We went down to The Meadows Gun Club for a round of sporting clays. We went down Friday night and camped and shot clays on Saturday morning.

We decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and go for a hike at our local state park – Chattahoochee Bend. The dogs enjoyed the new sights and smells.

We give thanks for camping trips with our humans, swimming opportunities, great hikes, the woodland creatures sharing their campfire, naps in the warm sun, tennis balls, stuffed squeaky toys, squirrels, birds, and all the fun things that happened during our Thanksgiving week this year. There is nothing more fun than jumping in the car and going on adventures! While cleaning out the Jeep over the weekend, Trooper and Mattie hopped in and were ready to go!

Bobbi and Mattie are taking some doggy training classes together. Trooper elected to get his training at home. Here are a couple pics from the sessions. Mattie gets a little bored during the long discussions from the trainer; however, she springs to action when it is time to demonstrate she’s done her homework! The little chihuahua, Elsa, is a coworker’s dog. Elsa and Mattie are becoming friends. Be sure to click on the thumbnails to see the entire photos.

Puppy playtime is the main focus at the Deling’s cottage in the woods. Mattie LOVES playing in the creek and getting muddy. While Trooper likes splashing around in the pool and creek, his favorite pastime remains his ball.

In an effort to find cooler temperatures, we headed to the mountains to camp at Vogel State Park. The park was packed as many others had the same idea we did! We spent time hiking and cooling off in the beautiful stream.

The four of us spent the holiday at Four Paws Kingdom in Rutherfordton, NC. While Bobbi and Charles have visited several times, this was Mattie and Trooper’s first camping trip. We had tons of fun participating in a doggy 4th of July parade, swimming, running in the dog parks, participating in the best doggy contests, and sleeping in the truck camper.
