We camped overnight at Victoria Bryant State Park as we had a special delivery to pick up in Commerce the next day. This is a beautiful park just off I-85 in North Georgia. It is wooded with a beautiful stream. Spring flowers were in bloom. Here are a few pictures from the day.
It is with great sadness, we share the passing of our sweet dogs. In November, we said goodbye to our girl Claire and this week our boy Rocky. While we will miss our special fur faces, we know one day we will see them again. For now, Claire and Rocky have joined Annie at the Rainbow Bridge.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Four Paws Kingdom is located in Rutherfordton, NC. We have visited with our fur faces a few times in the summer months but never in the fall. Over a long weekend in October, we made the trip and had a wonderful time. Despite being ill, Claire leapt in the pond and joined Rocky for a swim. It was a wonderful moment for us all.
I installed an auxiliary Sirius XM Antenna because the radio does not work well when the camper is on. I put the antenna on the bike carrier I have on the front of the truck. (click on the pictures for … Continue reading
Last weekend when the grownups went out of town, Rocky and Claire spent a weekend of fun at No Place Like Home. This country resort kennel for dogs is located in Senoia. The photos taken by the owner definitely showcases the very special time Rocky and Claire had in the country. Swimming, running, rolling in the grass, making friends, and more swimming made for a memorable weekend. If we can convince the owners to build some human rental cabins on the property, we’ll be the first in line to sign up for a weekend away!
Yesterday, we were in Senoia and dropped in to see our cousin Latte. She is a beautiful, long haired chihuahua. While Latte prefers her life as the only dog in her family, she puts up with her friendly cousins during an unexpected visit. Thank you to Aunt Christy for taking the wonderful photographs. Check out her awesome work at Digital Memories by Christy.
The family took our first trip camping trip to the seashore this summer. Our destination was Jekyll Island, Georgia. Every morning we visited Driftwood Beach as it is not only beautiful but dog friendly. One day, we saw a recently married couple having their picture taken on this bench and decided to try our own photo magic with the dogs. This is the best we were able to get with uncooperative critters. Rocky and Claire loved chasing crabs on the beach and splashing in the water.
